Are Foxes dangerous?

When I was walking Brady today a neighbor stopped me and asked if I knew there was a fox in the neighborhood..........I told her I had seen it and she told me they can attack dogs so to be careful :shock: Is that true? I would be concerned about a cat and would worry about a fox being rabid, but this one is very healthy looking, so need I worry?
