I may be really behind responding to this. If so, I apologize. When I "search"ed I didn't see it as a topic or maybe people responded with PMs? I have two rot/GSD/pointer/aussie littermates. One is less aussie. One is less GSD/pointer. They're 6 yrs old now. When the N dog gives me the best obediance routines you'd ever want to see, if a dog (or person) happens to go by she focuses the same energy she just gave me on the passer-by. Sometimes it's play energy, sometimes not. It caught me off guard. If we're just hanging out it's easier to get her attention & redirect her as long as I see it first. The other one likes to lie in the bushes in wait and jump out & chase which may or may not be the same. A different form of 0 to 10 maybe. Is that what you're talking about? Venting the restrained contained energy in ways that aren't particularly constructive instead of building on it to do more of what we want? I think your observations about the education system are definately worthy of somebody's attention.
