The biopsy results are back. The vet left a message for me this morning with this information from the pathology report:
My vet said that the report didn't mention an autoimmune process, and it doesn't explain to his satisfaction the pain that Brinker has. He's going to contact the pathologist to discuss more and will let me know.
I called the office after I got the message to let them know I got it and that since Brinker's been shaved, it seems to help (no hairs pulling on the area, I assume). He still cries and moans, but it's more of a whimper than the near-scream he was doing before. He is licking the shaved area occasionally, but not enough to cause a problem & he stops when I ask him to.
Edited to add: I'll see if I can get a clear picture to post. Since he's been shaved, it's easier to visualize but he gets really wiggly if he thinks I'm looking there because it's such a sensitive area.
