The catnip mishap

My neighbor grows catnip every year for her kitties and she gave me a handful for Mouse and Bean. This is a basic run- down of their reactions.

Mouse: I called her over to the couch and put some catnip down in front of her. She took one look at it, ran away and hid in the bedroom for the rest of the night. Don't ask me; quite frankly, she's always been a little weird.

Bean: I put the rest in front of her. She didn't know what to make of it; she sat in front of it, staring intently, cocking her head one way, then the other, pretty much for the rest of the night, at least until...

Petie: He watched the reactions of the cats for a while, then moved in, ate all the catnip and slipped into a drunken stupor. Hopefully catnip is not toxic to dogs. I'd feel terrible if it were, but I must say it made for a quiet rest of the evening.
