Do puppies need down time after a meal?

I did tell everyone that I would have lots of questions and right now I feel like I am taking over the board.

Our usual schedule is that I come home about 4:45pm take him out to pee and a little cuddle time. Then I feed him about 5pm and walk him at about 5:30pm. Yesterday when I worked late my father fed him about 4:30pm and I walked him at about 6:45pm. His behaviour seemed to be so much better last night. So I am just wondering if pups need some down time after a meal? He is about 3 1/2 months old now.
