Anybody have experience with AdamsPlus flea/tick collars?

I'm thinking that these would be a great alternative for the shelter if they are worth it, only $5 each and last for 5 months. Here flea/tick collars cost about $30 each for 6 months coverage. Anybody have any experience with them?
