Conversation I had with a woman at the dog park

Took Nenya and Smidge to the dog park last night (Smidge did great, by the way) and had the following conversation with a woman there:
 
Woman (looking at Nenya):  Oh, you have an undocked whippet?
 
Me [very, very confused]:  ??
 
Me:  Whippets don't have their tails docked.
 
Woman:  I mean her ears, they aren't cropped.
 
Me [even more confused]:  ??????????
 
Woman:  Whippets always have their ears cut, just like greyhounds.  I've seen it at Westminster; their ears stick straight up!
 
Me [realizing this is going nowhere]:  Well, maybe she just has longer ears than most whippets, so they just LOOK uncropped.  I'm sure they were cropped when she was a puppy; they just look long. 
 
Woman [nods head, satisfied]:  Yeah, that must be it.
 
Me [to self]:  WTF just happened?
 
She was CONVINCED that whippets and greyhounds all have cropped ears.  I just didn't have the heart to argue with her.  LOL!!!
