I'm looking at a puppy here aren't I..... dogs, cats, birds and bunnies.

The Cav breeder wrote and the retired dog is no longer available. Not only that but she said that no adult cav would be safe around birds, that we would have to get a puppy. I'm not planning on letting the bird loose anywhere there's another animal except the bunny, but I would like to hedge my bets. I mean, the cats have a pretty high prey drive...
 
 
Would you suggest a puppy is the best way to go? (Remember I have limited training skills here!)
