My Smart Puppy Weekend with Sarah Wilson * FULL*
October 25/26
Valley Cottage, NY
Come share a weekend of fun, varied and positively-focused training games for you and your canine companion.
This event focuses on:
- Teaching your dog self-control around distractions
- How to greet people politely (controlling jumping)
- Building a reliable come when called
- “Space games”
- Calm and safe behavior at doorways and on stairs
- Accepting handling calmly
- Hanging out with you in a group of people and dogs
- Paying attention to you when off lead
- Loose lead walking skills
And more…
You will learn many useful hands-on techniques, games and exercises for use in real life. Learn in an environment that empowers you and brings the very best out in your dog.
Enrollment is limited with plenty of time planned for one-on-one coaching from Sarah and her team. Learning will be both in large and small temperament/training level matched groups (5 dogs). These small groups will rotate between stations, ensuring you get detailed, customized coaching.
Each day is carefully paced to provide burnout-avoiding variety. Weather permitting, we’ll be outside for part of every day. It should be glorious that time of year!
Special treat: Saturday evening there will be a reading of Sarah’s new book, Dogology, while your dogs learn to settle at your feet and be handled calmly! Since Dogology will be released for sale the next week, you’ll be the first in the country to hear it!
Housing: Available “on campus” at an additional $35/per night. Bathrooms are shared, your dog is welcome.
Who will benefit? Anyone new to the My Smart Puppy training games, those of you who’ve worked with the games but have never had hands-on coaching, and any past student in the mood for a brush up. Coaching will match skill level.
This is not the venue for aggressive dogs who have intent to do harm to other dogs or people. Happy to help in another setting but this weekend is not the place. Reactive dogs and space sensitive dogs are welcome!
Cost: $345.00 (This price has been lowered in recognition of how hard things are for people right now.)
Times: 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 25 – 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 26
Enrollment: Limited to 15 dogs. One dog per person/family, but can be multiple people per dog.
This session is full. Please put yourself on the wait list, if interested. People's plans can change and you might get a slot. I keep sessions small so you ensure the best possible experience for you and your dog.
