I was away for ten days to attend a writers' conference in Michigan and to do some birding in Ohio on the way there and back. I had a fabulous time at the conference and a fabulous time birding. I saw several "firsts" for me of birds-- American Widgeon, Northern Shoveler, Greater Scaup, and Trumpeter Swan. I also saw Blue-winged Teals, which I have only seen once many years ago, so that was cool. Rowan and I hiked in the most beautiful spots; I could have stayed for days and will definitely go back.

You can see some photos of a few birds and of the gorgeous landscape on my blog-- Melissa's Musings and Doodlings
