It started at about 7:00 when Maya and I were at the back gate, and the next door neighbors' dogs came racing to the fence. The young one leaps and is about 6 inches on all four paws from clearing the fence! The older one grabs her by the scruff, throws her on the ground and jumps on her growling before they race to the other side of the yard!

Maya is understandably a little wound up by this, but instead of calming down after a few minutes of walking, seems to stay at that level of excitement for the whole hour and a half! She went through the whole walk with this expression on her face:

... which is never a good thing, so we took the less traveled paths and for the first time in a long time I refused a puppy owner when he asked if his pup could meet Maya. She just looked prime for making a mistake, and I didn't want that to happen. We got home and took care of the post walk zoomies with 15 minutes of her mouse on a rope, then chewing on a bone, and still she was hepped up! Inside for some obedience work which was fun, but not calming the way Maya was going after it. 20 minutes of panting down/stay later and Maya is finally passed out at my feet. Phew!

What the heck? It's like a return to the six month old Maya again!
